Technology Transfer Forum

This Web page on Technology Transfer draws together information about the process of getting technology from research and advanced development organizations into products that people get to use. It is intended to be a resource where people across different companies can collect and share information, references, etc on technology transfer. It initially grew out of an informal discussion group at CHI '95 that focused on human interface technology transfer. It is intended to be a public resource where the issues raised at that initial meeting can continue to be discussed and developed.

What's New

There will be a panel at CHI 96 on this topic of technology transfer. In preparation for this panel, we'd like to collect stories and anecdotes of technology transfer, both successes (what to do) and failures (what to avoid). We'll be collecting technology transfer stories here on this Web site to share with others. If you'd like to send a story from your experience, please e-mail John Tang (tang@eng.sun.com). Since these stories will be shared in this public forum, please make sure that no company proprietary information is revealed in the story (you are responsible for clearing the release of the information with your company's legal department, if required).

CHI '95 Meeting

This forum grew out of an informal meeting that was held as part of CHI '95. A summary of the meeting is available, as well as more detailed notes.
