SIGCHI Member Susan Dumais Named ACM "Athena Lecturer"

SIGCHI member and ACM Fellow Susan T. Dumais of Microsoft Research has been named as the 2014-2015 Athena Lecturer.

Susan was CHI Papers Co-Chair, along with past Athena Lecturer Judy Olson, for CHI 1994, and has been a frequent member of the CHI Program Committee. Susan has been a member of the Editorial Board of Human Computer Interaction, ACM Transactions on Computer Human Interaction, and many other editorial boards, as well as Associate Editor of the Handbook of Applied Cognition. Susan was elected to the CHI Academy in 2005, and elected a Fellow of ACM in 2006.

Jan 16, 2017 SIGCHI Sponsored HCI Summer/Winter Schools

In December 2016 SIGCHI published a call for sponsorship of HCI Summer/Winter Schools. Following a review, the SIGCHI Executive Committee selected seven of the proposals submitted. The selected events will be in Australia, China, Ireland, Poland, Mexico, USA and Switzerland in 2017.

Dec 12, 2016 ACM SIGCHI Gary Marsden Student Development Fund is now open to ALL conferences relevant to HCI

In order to better support students from and currently based in developing countries pursuing HCI/UX, ACM SIGCHI has recently revised the guideline for Gary Marsden Student Development Fund to cover all HCI relevant conferences.
