Video Categories |
|
| There are three categories of video submissions for CHI 99. Authors should consider which category is most appropriate for presenting their work. All videos will be distributed to conference attendees and will be archived permanently by ACM. Video FiguresA video figure, up to 2 minutes in length, may accompany a paper submission. It is intended to supply additional information in the same way that a color plate does. Video DemonstrationsA video demo shows an interface concept, system, or technique in detail. It is a maximum of 8 minutes in length and is included in the CHI 99 Video Program. It is accompanied by a two-page extended abstract published in the CHI 99 Extended Abstracts. The video demo replaces the traditional video submission category from previous CHI conferences. By moving traditional videos into the Demonstrations track, CHI 99 provides the opportunity for video authors to present their work during a technical program session. Video PapersA video paper is a new kind of highly-refereed video submission. It provides an alternative to textual papers for authors whose work is difficult to portray on paper. A video paper is a maximum of 8 minutes in length and is included in the CHI 99 Video Proceedings. It is accompanied by a four-page textual paper published in the CHI 99 Conference Proceedings. It is presented during a technical session at the conference. |
