Welcome Letter

Welcome to CHI 2001! The theme for CHI 2001 is: anyone. anywhere. It reflects the growing and universal influence of technology on our lives and the concept that technology should be accessible to everyone, everywhere. The CHI 2001 conference will explore the visions and challenges of the 21st century and as a reflection of the theme, it is anticipated that attendees will encounter contributions that relate to accessibility, portability, and internationalization to name just a few. Our vision is to encourage the CHI community to define emerging research and development initiatives that relate to the conference theme through the submission process. In turn, these sub-themes will be woven throughout the various venues of the conference.
