Volunteering
ACM SIGCHI runs on volunteer energy. A variety of opportunities are open
to people interested in volunteering some time to the CHI 2001
conference.
How to Volunteer
For most volunteer opportunities, you can contact the appropriate people
via e-mail. It would help if when you did so, you provided some
preliminary information:
- Name
- Contact information (email, phone, fax)
- Current affiliation or job
- Professional societies (especially ACM)
- Description (brief) of relevant interests and experiences
You may also volunteer by using the online sign-up forms available below.
Types of Volunteers
CHIkids leaders and daily volunteers will be working with children in a
program with a summer camp feeling, with the fun of exploring a
technology program. CHI projects which involve kids are also welcome.
Mentoring volunteers will assist people, new to CHI, who would like to
submit to the conference. You can sign up to either be a mentor (at the
Reviewer Volunteer Center) or to request a mentor.
You may volunteer to review submissions to CHI 2001. Sign up at the CHI
Reviewer Volunteer Center.
Student volunteers are an integral part of CHI 2001 conference support staff.
If you are interested in other SIGCHI volunteer opportunities, visit the
SIGCHI Involvement and Volunteering page.
Your organization may also help by contributing through our Sponsorship
Program.
