Urgent discussion of potential starter grant for CHI 2013 Goal: have CHI 2013 in Europe. Fact: convention costs are very high in Europe. A starter grant would be a help in evaluating bids, may be necessary to have a conference in Europe. VP Conferences will now continue the process, with the knowledge that the EC will consider making a starter grant available to make a CHI 2013 in Europe financially viable. 3. Status report on HCI Education worldwide Goal: to develop HCI educational materials and curricula suitable for conditions around the world Still in progress, still looking for someone to lead the effort 5.
